Ok Quick- ball point or rollerball? Pens, which one? In this case, you have a preference and you pick it, it isn’t like your choice effects anyone but you
But then there are other choices, like- I don’t know- cookies, that actually matter. Is the right choice locally made Organic cookies or deny those poor Elves living in the tree who make a yummy cookie also? Suddenly it becomes more complicated because I read too much, know a whole lot about what’s going on in the world and understand that my choices- even about baked dough balls- matter. Like it or not I am a freakin ripple in the sea and that ripple can cause change- Good or Bad. I did not ask to be the ripple by the way, I was perfectly happy being inert.
Heavy right? Nah, not really. It became easy to choose big stuff and little stuff when I decided to draw a line in the sand. You see, the choices are super simple when you make the finite decision about what you want to see in the world and the future, and you live by that choice. That line in the sand can never move- you cant cross it.
I did not ask to be the ripple by the way, I was perfectly happy
Ok- break it down . This is an example: If you don’t want to see crap in landfills- stop using huge amounts of packaging when you can. Recognize the stuff that has mega packaging (if that’s your gripe) and begin to find stuff without it. Remember the line in the sand you wont cross and find another way to have what you want without crossing it. Remind yourself: “Ohhhh, yea I already made a decision about where I stand about this thing- I don’t have to revisit it because I did that already. Based on that choice- I am going to do THIS.
Its nobody’s business but yours.
